Stingray Beach Cozumel
We are the only place that performs work and activities for the restoration and conservation of corals through the introduction of Artificial Marine Habitats (HAM’S) and the relocation of hard coral colonies from the seabed to habitats.
Similarly, one of our activities is to free up to 60% of our captive-born animals in order to support the growth of the stingray population in the Mexican Caribbean.
We share our achievements
- We have restored and conserved a total of 550 coral colonies.
- We have been in the project for 4 years.
- Our current survival rate is 92%.
- Stingray Beach Cozumel has been a member of the Coral Restoration Network of the Mesoamerican Reef System (SAM) since 2017.
